Contact Solutions

tackling in space

Our contact solutions train athletes to execute safe and effective tackling by leveraging a proven, integrated process. These include phases and elements focusing on proper alignment, understanding assignment, closing distance, establishing leverage, changing levels, transitioning to the power position, etc. This results in a tackle that eliminates the head from contact and takes the opponent to the ground.

Why not use helmets and football pads?

Our solutions use the practice of "high resistance, low contact." We emulate contact by manipulating the resistance an athlete encounters. We use resistance bands, medicine balls, sandbags, or bodyweight to create resistance and force. This is purposeful practice without the inherent risk of "thud or live" tackling.

Understanding USA Levels of Contact

Our solutions follow USA football guidance on the Levels of Contact. Levels of Contact are used to adjust contact intensity and duration to best meet the objective of development. Click below to learn more.
